Useful facts.
Clear sources.

GulfCoast.ms is designed as a referral and planning layer—not a replacement for the organizations that publish local information.

We use the least information needed.

For event listings, we retain factual metadata such as the event name, date, venue, city, category, price indicator, and official URL. We do not republish Coastal Mississippi’s supplied event descriptions, photography, reviews, or articles. Each listing identifies its source and sends visitors to the official page for complete details.

Event sources

Coastal Mississippi

Public event metadata from the search service behind the official tourism calendar. We request factual fields only, refresh once daily, attribute the source, and link to the original listing.

City calendars

Published iCalendar subscription feeds from the cities of Ocean Springs and Pascagoula. City-feed additions enter a manual review queue before appearing publicly.

Conditions and maps

Weather comes from the National Weather Service. Water temperature and tide predictions come from NOAA Tides and Currents. Sunrise and sunset come from the U.S. Naval Observatory. Map tiles come from OpenStreetMap. Source labels remain visible wherever practical.

Places and editorial work

Explore listings are curated from official city, attraction, park, museum, tourism, and government pages. Descriptions are written for GulfCoast.ms rather than copied wholesale. Each record keeps its source URL and review date. Business hours should always be confirmed with the venue.

See something we should change?

Event organizers, venues, publishers, and community members can request a correction, updated attribution, or removal. We will review good-faith requests promptly.
